VAVUNIYA: AN IDENTIFIED LTTE position posing a great threat to the Forward Defence Line (FDL) at PERIYATHAMPANE in VAVUNIYA was shelled by Air Force fighter jets this morning (25) around 9.45 a.m.
The aerial attack was condcuted after the intelligence sources confirmed that the area, located north of PERIYATHAMPANE, was a gathering point of Tiger terrorists who were preparing to launch an attack on the FDL. Air Force confirmed that the LTTE sustained severe damages due to the air strike.
