THE day-to-day life which was crippled due to terrorism in the North and East is normal today. So, there is rapid development taking place in different fields in those areas. In parallel with those developments, a new boat service was launched between Maninthalai Jetty in Pooneryn and Kolombuthurai Jetty in Jaffna on Sunday (13) during a brief ceremony after renovation of those Jetties.

The service was officially declared open by Mr. Namal Rajapaksa (MP) and the permission was granted to the private sector as well to launch boat services with Navy assisting the project.
Ministers Douglas Devananda, Dilan Perera and Susantha Punchinilame, Governor for North Major General (Rtd) G.A. Chandrasiri, Bollywood film star Vivek Oberoi, Security Forces Commander, Kilinochchi, 66 Division Commander, State officials and a large number of people from the area were present on the occasion.
