Troops of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under command to the 143 Brigade of the 14 Division under the Security Force HQ - West Saturday afternoon (29) rushed to prevent a fast spreading bush fire in the general area of Yanthampalawa, Sundirapola Garbage dump in Kurunegala.
By responding to the SOS call, troops including one officer and 26 troops of 1 SLNG rushed to the venue. With the help of two bulldozers, its further spread was prevented by the troops.
Meanwhile, fire fighters and Sri Lanka Air Force troops with the support of one helicopter got into the action and fought against its spread.
