9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary

The 9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) proudly celebrated its 15th Anniversary on Saturday (15 July) at the Regimental premises. As the first event of the Corps day programme, Inter Squadron Cricket matches and volleyball matches were held on Saturday (08 July).

The Commanding Officer and All Ranks of the unit conducted the flag-blessing inside the unit temple and Kanakambikaikulam Kovil, adjacent to the unit on 11 and 12 July 2023. On 15 July 2023, the unit accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout to the Commanding Officer upon his arrival at the main entrance that was followed by a ceremonial parade to the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel B.M.M.B Herath RSP USP.

After the ceremonial parade, the Commanding Officer planted a sapling followed by a group photograph. Then Commanding Officer participated in an all rank lunch and addressed the troops at the end of the lunch.

9th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps also hosted an All Rank’ Get – Together at the unit ground. The Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General K.A.W.S Ratnayake ndu participated as the chief guest and Brigadier General Staff Officer, 1 Corps, Brigadier R.P Munipura RWP RSP, Senior Officers, SLSC and Commanding Officers also participated in the event. Moreover, this event became more colorful with a grand musical show, dancing items and fireworks organized in sequence.
