9 SLNG Troops under 681 & 23 VIR Troops under 642 Brigade under 68 & 64 Divisions Launch Community Projects

Troops of the 9 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under command to the 681 Brigade, 68 Division and 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under command to the 642 Brigade and 64 Division under the Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu recently carried out a few corporate social responsibility (CSR) community projects in their respective areas on the guidelines given by Major general Jagath Rathnayake, Commander Security forces -Mullaittivu.

On Thursday (10), those 9 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 681 Brigade entertained more than 50-60 elderly civilians to a sumptuous lunch inside Muththumari Amman Kovil premises and a few most deserving ones were selected and offered essential dry ration parcels at the same location.

Brigadier Upali Rajapakse, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, Colonel Nalin Hettiarachchi, 681 Brigade Commander, Lieutenant Colonel A.C.L Gamlath, Civil Affairs Coordinating Officer 68 Division, Major P.D.L De Alwis, Commanding Officer 9 Sri Lanka National Guard and Major M.K.G.S Muthukuda, Civil affairs Officer 681 Brigade attended the occasion.

Troops of the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under command to the 642 Brigade and 64 Division of the SFHQ-MLT on Saturday (14) distributed saplings of economic value for planting among 155 needy families in order to improve their living standards.

Major General Randula Hathnagoda, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division, Colonel Prasanna Wijesooriya, 642 Brigade Commander, together with Major A.D.S Athukorala, Commanding Officer 23 VIR participated in the distribution programme.

Each family accordingly received four Jak saplings, one Kathuru Murunga (sesbania Grandiflora) sapling and a lime sapling during the programme. Forest Conservation Department at Mullaittivu provided those saplings at the request of the troops. Nike footwear | Air Jordan
