The Centre for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa awarded certificates to 83 more potential Army retirees and civil students who successfully completed tradesman courses on aluminum work, domestic wiring and repair of electronic and electric appliances during a brief ceremony at the CAVT on Friday (22).
The CAVT with the support of resource personnel of the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (SLVTA) conducted these courses which qualified them to receive the well-recognized National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level - 3.
The 6 month-long CAVT course recognizes the course attendees’ basic competence in the trade and equally endorses their completion of the course to suit vocational standards, laid down by the SLVTA.
During the same ceremony, 83 potential Army retirees, including 17 civil students received certificates of proficiency their basic courses taught during first six months of the year.
Brigadier K.A.W Kumarapperuma, Commandant, CAVT, Lieutenant Colonel Shasika Perera, Commanding Officer, CAVT, Mr H.P.W Rohan Priyantha, Deputy Director, SLVTA at Anuradhapura Branch and the CAVT Chief Instructor awarded those certificates to those Army personnel and civil students.
