A group of 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops led by their Commanding Officer swiftly rushed to the general area of Denankawa Watta, Peragas Junction, Yatiyantota on Tuesday (24) afternoon and evacuated the dead body, who had died inside a quarry.
Those troops of the 611 Infantry Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West) on the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division and the 611 Infantry Brigade Commander using ropes moved into the quarry where the dead civilian was found trapped and managed to take the dead body out with the help of Policemen and civilians.
