8 SLSR Troops with Donor’s Support Help Students at Children’s Homes

As a continuation of social welfare activities, initiated by the Commanding Officer, 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), Lieutenant Colonel D.C. S.K Atukorala, troops of the 8 SLSR with sponsorship provided by the Japanese School of Tokyo Web recently organized a much-needed donation of computer accessories to the needy children at “Children’s Village of Sri Bodhiraja” and St. Johns Children’s home at Beragala, Kegalle area as part of its 29th anniversary.

Laptops, multimedia systems with screens and school accessories that could help promote their IT knowledge were among those facilities, coordinated by the Commanding Officer, 8 SLSR through the generosity of the Japanese School of Tokyo Web.

Accessories for both Homes included exercise books, instrument boxes, stationery, pens and pencils, etc. The Commander, 611 Brigade, Brigadier L.A.J.L.B Udowita along with the Commanding Officer, 8 SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel D.C.S.K Athukorala joined the donation of those accessories and equipment.

Authorities, together with teachers, student representatives were present on the occasion.
