8 Field Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) wrestlers in the three-day SLE wrestling tournament (June 21 - 23), held at 8 SLE Headquarters, Buoya, emerged victorious and carried away Championships in novices and wrestlers categories.
The tournament, challenged by eleven Engineer Units of the SLE gave the runners-up slot to 14 Field SLE wrestlers (novices) and the 1 Field SLE won the tournament championship as the runners-up.
Private Y.M Saumya Kumara of 8 Field SLE was adjudged the best wrestler in the tournament and received the trophy. In the novice category Private H.M.C.J Bandara of 9 Field SLE became the best wrestler.
Brigadier B.B Randeniya, Brigade Commander, SLE at the invitation of Lieutenant Colonel B.S Ahamed, Commanding Officer, 8 Field SLE, gave away trophies and certificates to the winners.
A large crowd watched the final competitions.
