79th CISM Council held at Tanzania

79th International Military Sports Council (CISM - Counseil International Du Sport Militaire) was held during 12 – 19 May 2024 at Dar es Salaam, Tanzania with the participation of representatives of all 140 member-countries.

Representing Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army and President of Sri Lanka Defence Services Sports Council, Brigadier G.A.T Godewatta RWP RSP, Director, Directorate of Sports and team of Tri-Service Officers from Sri Lanka participated in the event.

During the event, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Colonel Nilton Gomes Rolim Filho, President of CISM and Brigadier G.A.T Godewatta RWP RSP, regarding the 80th CISM Council which is going to be held in Sri Lanka next year.

The event marked a special milestone in the history of Sri Lanka Defence Services Sports Council.
