7,286 Individuals Still in Quarantine at 68 Tri-service Managed QCs

Six more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (30). Those six expatriates were from UAE (4), UK (1) and one from Lebanon undergoing quarantine at Bentota Quarantine Centre (QC), Rajagiriya Ayurveda Centre QC and Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps QC at Pitipana. By 6.00 am this morning (30), the total detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts stands at 639. Of them, 518 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The flight IQ 4227 from Russia with 21 passengers, the flight EK 648 from Dubai with 08 passengers, QR 668 from Doha Qatar with 42 passengers and UL 226 with 272 passengers from Dubai arrived in Colombo this morning (30) and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.

Within the day (30), 551 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 05 persons are from Diyatalawa QC, 150 persons from Hotel Blue Waters QC, 161 persons from Kosgama Hotel Sheraton QC, 05 persons from Galle Hotel Amari QC, 115 persons from Dickwella Resort QC, 94 persons from Biyagama Village QC, 02 persons from Mount Lavinia Hotel QC, 14 persons from Panichchankerni QC and 05 persons from Hotel Jetwing QC.

Likewise, 34, 416 individuals have been sent back home after quarantining. 7,286 persons in 68 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (29), 1740 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 221,910.

Meanwhile, 07 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (30). Five of them were expatriates in quarantine and other 02 individuals were found to have associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts. Accordingly, 616 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery.
