7058 Persons Still in Quarantine-NOCPCO

Twelve persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 as of this morning (26). Among them were 11 expatriates from India in quarantine at Palaly Air Force QC and one expatriate from India in quarantine at Dambulla Hotel Paradise QC. The total number of infected detainees as of this morning (26) by 6.00 am at the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu stands at 629. Of them, 508 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

The flight UL 104 from Maldives with 03 passengers last evening (25), the flight EK 648 from Dubai with 21 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Doha, Qatar with 17 passengers, the flight 6E 9034 from Chennai with 48 civil sea marshals, the flight UL 218 with 277 passengers from Doha and the flight UL 1506 from Germany with 102 passengers arrived in Colombo and all of them were referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services.

As of today (26), 228 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 51 persons are from Jetwing Hotel- C QC, 135 persons from Jetwing Blue QC, 10 from Hotel Jetwing Beach QC, 20 from Carolina Beach QC and 12 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurveda QC have accordingly left for their homes. In total, 32,816 quarantined persons have left for their homes as of this morning (26).

Likewise, 7,058 persons in 65 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (25), 1580 PCR tests were carried out and the total PCR tests conducted so far in the country stands at 211,090.

Meanwhile, 05 infected positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (26). Three of them were identified as expatriates and the remaining two were among those associated with individuals in the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre. Accordingly, 607 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug addicts at Kandakadu after recovery have so far left.
