7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops of the 523 Brigade under the 52 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ collected their own money and provided a sumptuous lunch plus a stock of school accessories for the needy children in the Roman Catholic Tamil School at Chavakachcheri on Friday (25).
Accordingly, twenty-three students who are currently studying at the Roman Catholic Tamil School received those incentives and the lunch, prepared by the troops.
The goodwill gesture received guidance and blessings of the General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division, Major General Sanjeewa Fernando.
The close supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 7 VIR, Lieutenant Colonel K.G.S.N.A Bandara made the project a success with his troops.
