7 VIR Marks its 23rd Anniversary

7 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) marked its 23rd anniversary with a series of programmes on 3 November under the guidance of Major A.V.A.R.K. Abeywickrama, Commanding Officer, 7 VIR at the Battalion Headquarters in Velvettithurai, Jaffna.

The anniversary celebrations commenced with a Guard Turnout presented by VIR troops saluting the Commanding Officer at the premises.

Planting of a tree sapling, troop address and an all rank lunch was held on the same day.

The anniversary celebrations culminated with a Bodhi Pooja, invoking blessings on serving 7 VIR officers and transferring merits to fallen officers and other ranks.
