7 (V) SLAC Hosts Inaugural Unit Symposium & Diners' Club

The 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) hosted its inaugural Unit Symposium & Diners’ Club on 19 April 2024, themed "Infantry Role and Future Employability as a Volunteer Regiment."

Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Colonel Commandant of SLAC and the Commander, Security Forces - West, graced the event as the chief guest. The Keynote address was delivered by Major General P.A.M Peiris RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division.

The symposium explored topics ranging from historical conflict impacts to the regiment's contemporary role. A Diners' Club followed, featuring Dr. Manoj Sanjeewa Fernando MBBS, M Phil. CTHE, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science at Rajarata University, as a guest lecturer. This aimed to broaden Cavalry Officers' horizons through intellectual discourse and social interaction.
