The New Year celebration of 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (7SLLI) was held on Friday (10) at the SLLI premises, Kanagapuram on the directions of the Commanding Officer, 7 SLLI.
Many officers, other ranks and their family members as well as civilians of the area took part in the ceremony.
Colonel K.T.A.D.S Kolambathanthri, Brigade Commander, 571 Brigade, attended the occasion as the Chief Guest where many traditional games and entertainment session were conducted.
Meanwhile, children of the Maha Dewa Ashram, Kilinochchi got an opportunity to participate in the New Year games with children of Army personnel.
Finally, the Commanding Officer of 7 SLLI distributed gift parcels among 200 children, who took part in the New Year festival.
Many of the government as well as the private sector organizations in the area lent their generous hands to make the New Year Festival - 2015 a success.
