7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (7 SLLI) commemorated its 32nd Anniversary on 20 November 2024 under the guidance of its Commanding Officer, Major R. Ushetti psc SLLI.
The celebrations commenced on 17 November with an inter-company cricket tournament at the B Company cricket ground in Malayalapuram. A War Heroes commemoration ceremony followed at the War Heroes Monument in Kanagapuram, Kilinochchi, with the participation of families of fallen heroes. On 18 November 2024, a pirith chanting ceremony and an almsgiving were conducted.
Marking the anniversary, the Commanding Officer inaugurated the newly renovated Q Stores building, planted a tree to commemorate the occasion, and addressed the troops. Certificates and trophies were presented to cricket tournament winners and the battalion’s drill platoon for their outstanding performance in the Inter-Battalion Drill Competition 2024.
The celebrations concluded on 21 November 2024 with inaugurating a newly constructed house in Rambewa Ranaviru Gammanaya to the family of a fallen War Hero.
Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
