18 Vijayabhahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops of the 682 Brigade of the 68 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) recently took the initiative in conducting a special eye clinic plus a donation of spectacles for the benefit of poor civilians in the area.
The clinic, held at the Puthukudiyirippu Central College auditorium screened about 200 civilians with eye sight ailments and provided consultations by medical officers plus the main sponsor of the programme, ‘Vision Care’ staff from Colombo and Kilinochchi.
The sponsors on the same spot through their mobile bus provided free glasses for 100 civilians and recommended 14 patients for surgeries and 16 more for special spectacles that could be obtained from the Kilinochchi Vision Care Centre.
More than 20 Army personnel of the 18 VIR including Officers actively organized the project as a segment of the civil-military cooperation. 682 Brigade Commander and the 68 Division General Officer Commanding gave there maximum support to the project. latest Running | jordan Release Dates
