Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali of the Gemunu Watch assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 68 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu, amid religious blessings and formalities at the 68 Division Headquarters in Puthukkudiyiruppu on 27 February.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 68 Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by troops as he entered the premises before a Guard of Honour saluted him.
The new GOC afterwards symbolically signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties.
After a while, the new GOC as has been the practice addressed all Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the Division in the future.
Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 68 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
