Officers and other rankers serving the 68 Division Headquarters under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Wednesday (8) gathered together and held a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival bringing joy and fun to the troops.
At the request of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The event included many varieties of traditional games and fun-making features, adding glamour and interest to the occasion. Of them, a model of the rural village that had been erected by 68 Division troops in the premises, came in for the praise of everyone, including the SF Commander, MLT.
General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, many officers and other ranks were also present at the event and the distribution of prizes to the winners culminated the day’s event.
