On the directions of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 68 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu, free lunch was offered to the students at Iniyawalvu Illam Deaf & Blind School on Tuesday (02) on account of Poson Poya Day.
Meanwhile, a Koththamalli Dansela was held at Puthukkuddiyirippu Junction on the same day by the troops of the 68 Divison.
Several formations under the 68 Division conducted several programme to commemorate Poson Poya Day.
Troops of 681 Brigade distributed food parcels among 300 poor people in the 681 Brigade area on the instructions of the Commander, 681 Brigade.
80 patients in Puthukkuddiyirippu Hospital were meanwhile given food parcels and yoghurt by the troops of 23 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) with the participation of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division.
Troops of 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) gave away lunch for 200 civilians in Thevipuram area by delivering food parcels to their houses.
25 civilians in the 683 Brigade area were given food parcels by the 683 Brigade on account of the festival.
Troops of 16 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) meanwhile organized a chickpea Dansela at Sudandipuram area.
A rice Dansela was organized at the Mailwanagampuram Junction by 7th Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW) troops with the participation of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division. Around 2000 civilians in the area attended the Dansela.
