653 Infantry Brigade troops of the 65 Infantry Division under the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni distributed 150 packs of exercise books and accessories among students of Grades 6,7,8 and 9 studying at Periyamadhu Muslim School and Thachchanmaradamadu Government's Tamil Mixed School on Thursday (16 March) after inviting them to the at Periyamadhu Muslim School premises.
This programme, organized as per guidelines of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Infantry Division Major General Prasad Edirisinghe was sponsored by a group of philanthropists and well-wishers. The Commander, 653 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Namal Serasinghe coordinated and supervised the entire project.
Major General Prasad Edirisinghe, General Officer Commanding, 65 Division graced the distributing occasion as the Chief Guest.
The Administrator of the Shrine of our Lady of Madhu, Reverend Father Peppi Sosai, Brigadier Namal Serasinghe, Commander 653 Infantry Brigade, Second-in-Command of 4 Gajaba Regiment, Senior Officers, school staff and students took part in the distributing ceremony.
