652 Brigade troops of the 65 Division under the Security Force HQ- Wanni took their own initiative and bought essential food items and clothes to the value of Rs 15,000/= to a needy family living in Naddankadal, Mankulam on Wednesday (15 March).
Brigadier Sanjeewa Wanasekara, Commander, 652 Infantry Brigade and troops on hearing the helpless living condition of the above family in consultation with the respective Grama Seva Niladari in the area pocketed out their own money for purchase of those essentials.
The Commander, 652 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Sanjeewa Wanasekara along with few officers went to the doorstep and gave those items to the family, headed by a widowed mother.
