Troops of the 652 Infantry Brigade at the request of school authorities constructed a badminton court for students studying at Government's Tamil Mixed School in Nandikadal, Manthai as it remained a need for students, interested in the sport and declared it open on Wednesday (Jan 18).
The project was initiated by Brigadier Sanjeewa Wanasekara, Commander, 652 Infantry Brigade on request under the guidance of Major General Prasad Edirisinghe, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 65 Infantry Division and the Wanni Commander.
The GOC, 65 Infantry Division attended the inauguration of the new badminton court as the Chief Guest in the company of the Commander, 652 Infantry Brigade.
Divisional Secretary Manthai - East, Grama Seva official and 652 Infantry Brigade who completed the project were present during the event.
