The 65 Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni celebrated its 13th anniversary on Tuesday (15), amid simple arrangements, adhering to health guidelines under the guidance of its General Officer Commanding, Major General Anil Samarasiri.
A cricket tournament played among members of the Division, and distribution of about 125 lunch packets among civilians in all 3 Brigades and battalions under command and supply of refreshments to children at Adhiradhan preschool took place as anniversary segments.
The 65 Division was raised as Task Force 5 on 15 Dec 2008 at Mallavi, and it was relocated at Thunukkai on 14 Jan 2009. The Task Force was re-designated as the 65 Division on 18 Sep 2009. Since 04 Dec 2020, it has been serving under command to the SFHQ-Wanni.
