65 Division Broadens its Service Wings

The newly-constructed MT yard, a ‘Tea Shop’ for all Ranks and the new constructions at SLEME section at 65 Division Headquarters in Thunukkai, was declared open by Major General Hemantha Bandara, the General Officer Commanding 65 Division on Tuesday (04).

The General Officer Commanding on the arrival at the entrance to the MT yard, unveiled a plaque to symbolize the official opening and planted a sapling besides the yard in connection with the opening of the new service centres. The new MT yard has the capacity to accommodate all the vehicles of the 65 Division Headquarters. The General Officer Commanding also opened the ‘Tea Shop’ and other constructions. The programme was followed an all rank tea.

The construction of these requirements were initiated under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding - 65 Division. All the materials utilized for the constructions were made available through local resources whilst the manpower was contributed by all the Officers and Other Ranks of the 65 Division. SLEME Field Work shop - 65 Division continued to provide their professional and technical assistance in making the efforts a success.
