Troops of the 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) of the 65 Division on Sunday (23) on the directions of Major General D.M.H.D Bandara, General Officer Commanding, 65 Division joined a tree planting programme inside the Iranamathanagar Sebamale Matha Church premises.
Troops, together with about 40 civilians in the area planted those saplings in the compound under the close supervision of 651 Brigade Commander.
Meanwhile, the same SLLI troops carried out a cleaning project as a Shramadana in the Kalvilan Aruvi Pre-School premises on Monday (24) together with the support of 9 civilians in the area.
Similarly, troops of the 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment at the request of the teachers in the Sellipuram Pre-School in Pooneryn conducted a Shramadana on Sunday (23), constructed a fence around the pre-school premises and cleaned the compound under the supervision of the Commander 661 Brigade, Colonel H.H.K.S.S Hewage.
