As of this morning (12), a total of 635 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 10 of them are foreigners and all other 625 were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).
By 6.00 this morning (12), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market stands at 11,857.
The flight G 9501 from Pakistan with 25 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Doha Qatar with 31 passengers and the flight WI 371 from Oman with 20 passengers arrived in Colombo. Those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.
Within the day (12), two quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes.
As of this morning (12), 2,690 persons in 29 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (11), 10,207 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 629,315.
