643 Infantry Brigade Gifts One More House to Needy Family

The 643 Infantry Brigade troops of the Security Force Headquarters- Mullaitivu (SFHQ –MLT) in order to further strengthen goodwill bonds between Security Forces and civilians offered their sponsoring assistance for construction of a new house to a desperate family, living in the general area of Muttiyankattukulam, Mullativu.

Colonel Chandana Wickramanayake, Commander, 643 Infantry Brigade through his personal contacts and friends in the country raised the much-required expenditure for raw materials considering the pathetic living condition of Mrs. J. Antonydas and her family.

8 Sri Lanka Artillery troops of the 643 Infantry Brigade under the 64 Infantry Division volunteered to erect this house using their technical and engineering skills plus the necessary manpower.

Major General Nissanka Iriyagama, General Officer Commanding of the 64 Infantry Division as the Chief Guest on 5 March at the invitation of the 643 Infantry Brigade Commander graced the warming of the new house where keys were delivered to the beneficiary, Mrs. J Antonydas and his family during a simple inaugural ceremony.

Senior officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 64 Infantry Division, together with relatives of the family participated in the house-warming ceremony.
