A group of philanthropists, led by Ven Kaduruwela Sugathawansa Nayaka Thero of Wadduwa, Kudagonaduwa Uttarachetiyaramaya went to Kanagarathnapuram (No 56) village in the 643 Brigade Headquarters area in Muttiyankaddukulam and made donations to over 105 needy families.
Parcels containing dry food items, clothes, household items, pre-school and other educational accessories and other essentials were distributed among 105 families during a brief meeting in the heart of Kanagarathnampuram village.
Donors including Mrs Mallika Kulasuriya, Directress Horana Educational Zone, Mrs Jayantha Samaraweera, Principal, Borahena Maha Vidyalaya, Mrs Indrani Jayasinghe, Dancing Instructor and a few others attended the occasion.
Lieutenant Colonel W.P.K.H Pathirana, Commanding Officer, 30 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) representing Colonel K.D.C.P.J Thilakarathne, Commander 643 Brigade Headquarters witnessed the donation, together with a few other Army officers.
