A community based awareness project for prevention of COVID-19 spread was launched at the 641 Brigade HQ on Saturday (1).
The programme was launched by 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (14 SLSR) troops in Kachchilamadu and Mandakandal areas on the direction of Colonel Janaka Jayawardana, Commander 641 Brigade and under the close supervision of Lieutenant Colonel Athuldorarachchi, Commanding Officer, 14 SLSR. The staff of MOH office Mandakandal assisted for success of the programme.
The programme focused on preventive measures and its critical effects on health of human beings. Primarily, people were educated on the importance of wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands. It was observed that most of the people were not fully aware of precautions against COVID 19 and they were keen on learning about such practices.
