Troops of the 64 Division facilitated the conduct of a National Youth Service Council-organized ‘Youth Exchange Programme,’ held during 23-27 September on the banks of Muthiyankaddu lake in Oddusudan at the request of the Grama Seva Officer in Oddusudan, Mullaittivu.
30 youngsters of three major communities, Sinhala, Muslim and Tamil, resident in Puttalam district and 50 youngsters from Muththuvinagar and Muthiyankaddukulam areas in Mullaittivu district exchanged their views during this workshop, designed to enhance gestures of reconciliation and understanding among all ethnicities.
This programme focused on bridging the gaps between these communities through youth exchange programmes of the National Youth Council (NYC). It also aims to educate and understand among the youth in the North and the South.
64 Division troops on the instructions of Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division provided refreshments, put up temporary parasols and chairs for the event.Sports News | Nike Shoes
