62 Division soccer team won the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) Challenge Trophy in the soccer tournament, held at the Bishop Joseph Football Grounds, Thaalpadu, Vavuniya beating the 54 Division soccer team by 2-1 goals on Wednesday (10).
The tournament was organized by the 54 Division with the intention of promoting competitiveness and collective understanding among the troops.
Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W attended as the Chief Guest to give away trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up teams.
Navy Commander, North Central Province, General Officers Commanding (GOC) and Brigade Commanders, senior Police officers, officers, other ranks and a large number of civilians attended the event.
