In the wake of the recent fires that victimized the crude oil tanker in the seas of Kalmunai, the 62 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni with the objective of learning more about such disasters, consequent oil spills, environmental impact, legal aspects, national strategy and other concerns, invited Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA) and Disaster Management Centre (DMC) experts to educate the Officers on those lines.
Accordingly, the Assistant Director, MEPA - Trincomalee Division, Mr T. Sripathy and the Assistant Director, DMC - Trincomalee, Mr K. Sugunathas submitted a detailed account and a presentation to the troops on the subject on Sunday (6) at the 62 Infantry Division HQ.
