The 62 Division HQ in Galkulama, Padavi-Sripura of the Security Force HQ- Wanni celebrated its 10th anniversary on 10 Sep 2020, attaching prominence to religious activities. To mark the event, the Division organized a ‘Bodhi Pooja’ ceremony, an alms-giving to ten monks at first, followed by a limited over Cricket Tournament played among troops in the Division.
On the anniversary day (10), the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 62 Division, Brigadier Samantha Silva was accorded a salute at the parade ground as a military formality followed by a sapling planting drive inside the camp. An All Rank lunch ended the day’s itinerary.
