6,126 Individuals in 57 QCs Still in Quarantine - NOCPCO

As of this morning (10), 07 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 epidemic. All of them are expatriates from India (1), UK (1) and Saudi Arabia (5) who were in quarantine at Seashine Hotel Quarantine Centre (QC), Eco Surf QC, Vidura QC Sampur, Diyatalawa QC and Ayurvedic QC Rajagiriya, states the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 am this morning (10), the total number of detainees at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts stands at 649. Of them, 528 individuals are detainees under rehabilitation, 67 staff members, 5 guest staffers, 48 family members and close associates, including 01 person who got in contact with the infected one in the Welikada Prison.

The flight UL 2226 from Saudi Arabia with 274 passengers, the flight QR 668 from Qatar with 81 passengers and the flight UL 226 from Dubai with 292 passengers arrived in Sri Lanka this morning (10) and the flight EY 264 from Abu Dhabi will arrive with 09 passengers, All of them are expected to be referred to Quarantine Centres, managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (10), 585 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 20 persons are from Pelwehera QC, 87 persons from Sigiri Village QC, 92 persons from Hotel Presco Eco Vila QC, 21 persons from Kayabeach QC, 154 from Eden Garden QC, 01 person from SLAGSC QC, 40 persons from Rajagiriya Ayurvedic QC, 51 persons from Diyagama sports complex QC and 119 persons from Damminna QC.

Likewise, 39,230 individuals by this morning (10) have been sent back home after quarantining. 6,126 persons in 57 tri-service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (09), 1600 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 245,112.

Meanwhile, 11 positive COVID-19 cases after full recovery left hospitals early this morning (10). All of them are expatriates. Accordingly, 634 individuals, associated with the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre for Drug Addicts at Kandakadu have left so far after recovery. A total of 15 infected persons, connected to the Rehabilitation Centre are still under treatment. Since no positive cases have been reported from society other than those arriving from overseas, all Sri Lankans are urged to continue their health practices and help prevention of its transmission as per instructions given by health authorities.
