Giving prominence to both Sinhala and Tamil traditions, 612 Brigade in 61 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), organized a New Year festival on Wednesday (10).
The day’s programme included a variety of traditional events and games, symbolized harmony and peaceful co-existence among all communities in the area.
A mega musical show, backed by 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (9 SLSR) Beat Group entertained soldiers and large number of locals in the day’s evening.
Brigadier D.M.W.W.W.R.B.M Daulagala, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division graced the occasion as the chief guest and many other government officials were present at the occasion.
