The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndu, made his maiden visits to 611, 612, 613 Infantry Brigades and under command Battalions on 24,25 and 31 August, with the intention of inquiring about the well-being of his troops.
The Senior Officer was well received by respective Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and was greeted by Guard Turnouts at each entrance. He participated in comprehensive briefings, addressed the troops and was invited to plant saplings on camp premises as symbols of memory.
Further, he conducted camp visits, inspected ongoing constructions and interacted with troops while inquiring about their well-being. Prior to his departure, he made complimentary remarks in visitors' books at each location. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with those events.
