6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Regiment footballers secured victory in the 22 Division-organized Divisional Soccer Championship - 2020 defeating 2nd (Volunteer) Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment, during the tournament, held at the 22 Division grounds in Trincomalee on Sunday (20).
Both teams played aggressively from the beginning of the match and posed threats by attacking the opponent’s goal. However, 6 SLAC found solace at the penalty shootout where they beat 2 (V) GR for 4 to 3.
The tournament was organized by the 22 Division Headquarters under the directions of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 22 Division, Major General Channa Weerasuriya. It was held during 12 -20 September with the participation of 9 teams.

Championship - 6 SLAC,Runners up - 2 (V) GR, Best player in the tournament - Rec KM Riskar - 2 (V) GR, Best player in the final match - Tpr B.G.G.S Dasanayaka - 6 SLAC, Best goal keeper - Cpl W.M.S.K Silva - 6 SLAC, Best goal shooter - L/C D.M.S Dissanayaka - 2 (V) GR.
