The 22 Infantry Division, under the guidance of Major General P.A.M Pieris RSP USP psc, hosted the ‘General Officer Commanding Challenge Trophy Elle Tournament -2024’ from 27 March 2024 to 30 March 2024. The tournament featured 10 teams representing under command Brigades and Battalions.
After 10 preliminary matches, the 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) team and 5 Sri Lanka Artillery team advanced to the finals. The event was graced by the General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division as the chief guest. In an exciting game held at the Mollipothana Hameedia Sports Club Ground, the 6 SLAC team emerged as the champions.
Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 22 Infantry Division participated in the tournament.
