5 deserving low-income group families, resident in Nandikadal area, Mullaitivu received dry ration packs and sweet-meats on account of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, thanks to the generosity of 682 Infantry Brigade and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops on Thursday (13).
Troops on the instructions of the 682 Infantry Brigade Commander on their own collected money and organized the donation considering their hardships.
Troops went to their doorsteps and delivered those dry ration packs, each worth Rs. 5000/= to those deserving families.
Meanwhile, troops of the 9 SLNG of 681 Infantry Brigade gave away 10 dry ration packs with sweet-meats to 10 low-income group families resident in Puthukkuddiyirippu area on account of the New Year. They visited their homes and delivered those relief packs.
Commanding Officers of 6 SLNG and 9 SLNG battalions coordinated and supervised the entire project.
Major General S Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 68 Infantry Division along with respective Brigade Commanders provided necessary guidelines for the project of goodwill.
