593 Brigade Troops Assist Religious Projects at Mullaittivu

The annual ‘Katina Pooja’ at Gurukanda Rajamaha Viharaya in Nayaru, Mullaittivu got underway during 30-31 October at the temple premises in parallel with the 2nd death anniversary of the former incumbent at the Vihara late Ven Colombo Medhalankara Kiththi Thero who passed away after a prolonged illness.

For these religious events, the present chief incumbent of the temple requested assistance from Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.

Accordingly, troops of the 19 Gemunu Watch and 5 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment under the 593 Brigade commanded by Colonel Vishwajith Vidyananda provided troop assistance for conduct of the annual event and the commemoration of the 2nd death anniversary.
