593 Brigade Constructs New Warrant Officers' & Sergeants' Mess

Major General Sisira Pilapitiya, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu on Wednesday (6) formally opened the new Warrant Officers' & Sergents' Mess at the 593 Brigade in Nayaru area, Mullaittivu.

At the invitation of Brigadier Wasantha Palamakubura, the former Commander, 593 Brigade who is presently serving as Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces - Mullaittivu and the incumbent successor, Colonel Vishwajith Vidyananda, present Commander of the 593 Brigade under the 59 Division.

This building was constructed by the troops of the Corps of Engineer Service (CES) troops, 19 Gemunu Watch troops, 5 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops with Army funds and the manpower for the construction was provided by the troops serving the Brigade.

Few senior officers, including Major General G.D Sooriyabandara, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, Brigadier Anil Illangakoon, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (FMA) - Mullaittivu, Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces - Mullaittivu, Brigadier Administration and Quartering, SFHQ-MLT, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of 18 Gemunu Watch, 16 Corps of Engineer Services, few Officers and Other Ranks attended the event adhering to health guildlines.
