Brigadier Chinthaka Rajapakse assumed duties as the new Commander of the 592 Brigade in Mathawalasinghakulam, Mullaittivu on Saturday (13) during a simple ceremony.
The new Brigade Commander on arrival was greeted to a Guard Turnout salute before he was warmly received and welcomed by the Commanding Officer, 23 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI).
Subsequently, he left signature for an official document in his office and symbolized the acceptance of his duties.
He was also invited to leave memories by planting a Mango sapling in the camp premises before he delivered his first formal address.
