59 Infantry Division Organizes Vesak Zone and Dansala in Puthukkudiyiruppu

Coinciding with the Vesak festival, the troops of the 59 Infantry Division organized a Vesak Zone and Dansala at the Public Ground in Puthukkudiyiruppu on 23 and 24 May 2024.

The event was successfully held under the directions of Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Commander of the Security Forces - Wanni, and with the close supervision of Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding of 59 Infantry Division and Brigadier H.V.A Somaweera RWP RSP USP, Commander of 593 Infantry Brigade.

The Vesak Zone was adorned with colorful Vesak lanterns, creating a festive atmosphere for the more than 20,000 devotees in Mullaitivu who witnessed the event. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in this charity event.
