Troops of the 59 Division recently celebrated their 9th anniversary with a series of events on the directions of Major General N.D Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 59 Division at 59 Division Headquarters premises, Nandikadal.
A Guard Turnout and a Parade saluted the GOC, 59 Division on arrival at the premises on the anniversary day.
An all night pirith chanting ceremony took place at the premises in the same evening (Dec 14). Offer of alms to the monks on the following day culminated the Anniversary programme.
Senior officers, officers and other ranks serving under the 59 Division attended the event.
