58 Division's New GOC Assumes Duties

Major General H.D.W.K.N Eriyagama RWP RSP of Special Forces assumed duties as the New General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 58 Infantry Division amid religious blessings on Monday (4 Sep).

The newly-appointed GOC of the 58 Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout before he was invited to receive the salute of the Guard of Honour.

Afterwards, the new GOC in his office placed his signature for an official document to mark the assumption of his duties as members of the Maha Sangha began chanting ‘Seth Pirith’. After a while, he formally addressed troops at the Division HQ.

Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 58 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day’s event.
