Puttalam-based 58 Division troops with the financial support received from two donors distributed pre-school stationeries, learning accessories and equipment, needed to a poor family for self-employment on Saturday (22).
Major General Priyanka Fernando, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 58 Division took the initiative and selected 6 preschools in Puttalam district in coordination with the philanthropists, Mrs Shevon Fernando and Mr Tharaka Jayatissa, a businessman in the area.
A welding equipment set and painting equipment, needed for a low income family for self-employment was also among those donations that were delivered to the 58 Division HQ for distribution among target groups.
