After the recent release of fingerlings by the 571 Brigade, troops of the 572 Brigade considering possibilities for income generating openings for the needy and nutrition factors released 75,000 fingerlings to the Visuamadu Tank in Mullaittivu on Wednesday (7) as a community aiding project.
Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi gave his blessings for the project as it would help generate income for underprivileged fishing families as well as families suffering malnutrition, due to lack of nutrients in their diets.
More than twenty five fishing families in Visuamadu East Grama Niladari Division are benefited due to this project.
On the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena and following guidelines given by the Commander, 572 Brigade, Colonel Nishantha Muthumala, troops joined the project in co-operation with National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) of the Mullaittivu Branch for the occasion.
