Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu assumed duties as the 17th General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 57 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 57 Infantry Division Headquarters on 17 July 2024.
Upon his arrival, incoming GOC was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers of the Division and honoured him in a Guard Turnout presented by the troops of 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
Afterwards, Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu officially marked his assumption of duties by placing his signature on an official document, amidst the chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’. He subsequently addressed the troops of the 57 Infantry Division, and the event concluded with an All-Ranks tea.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 57 Infantry Division were present at the occasion.
